Day 1: Luang Prabang – Nong Khaiw (Drive)
Departure time: 08:00am from hotel. Embark on a 3 hour drive by private minivan to Northern Laos (approx 140 km).
Our first stop is Xang Hai Village where the local people make rice whisky and handicrafts. There is no obligation to buy products but we can assist you with ethical bargaining if you require.
We then travel to the Pak Ou Caves where you will see a cave filled with old Buddhas and shrines overlooking the Mekong River.

In the afternoon we will take a slow boat along the Nam Ou River to visit five remote villages. You will have the opportunity to join the villagers swimming in the river. You will meet the local people, learn about daily village life and culture.
Return to Nong Khaiw by boat at approx 5pm.

Day 2: Nong Khaiw – Muang Ngoy (Boat)
Departure Time: 09:30am from accomodation.
We will be travelling on the Nam Ou River from Nong Khaiw to Muang Ngoy on board a private local boat.
Muang Ngoy is a tiny village only reachable by boat on the Nam Ou River.
Explore Captain Village then travel further up to the waterfall. When we arrive in Muang Ngoy in the late afternoon we will do a short hike to view a sunset and the remainder of the day is spent at your leisure.

Day 3: Muang Ngoy Trekking to stay with local family
After breakfast we will trekking to a local village through the jungle surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery.

Day 4 Muang Ngoy – Muang Khua – Oudomxay
Departure Time: 09:00am from Muang Ngoy to Muang Khua by long boat.
You will see Khmu minority tribes living together on the river. The villages have no roads so transportation on the river is the only real means of getting around.
On arrival and Muang Khua, we will be collected by private minivan and transported to Oudomxay Province in Northern Laos.
The remains of the day are at your leisure to further explore this charming town.

Day 5: Oudomxay Trek
Namkat Yorla Pa is the protected forestry area along the Namkat River in Oudomxay. This area is truly one of the most beautiful nature environments min the world.
After breakfast,. You will be driven by the resort car to Namkat Waterfall.
There are 13 sky bridges which you can walk over and explore. Spend time at the waterfall and cool off in the crystal-clear waters.

Day 6: Oudomxay – Vientiane (by train)
At 9.30am you will be transported to the Oudomxay Railway Station.
Train C85 Departure Time is 10:49am – Arrive in Vientiane at 1:50pm.
